Food & Health Projects

Food and Health Projects

Our Food & Health Workers provide training in all aspects of healthy eating. Our goal is to get people into their kitchens, cooking, eating and enjoying tasty food.  We work very closely with schools and Children’s Centres across Sefton as well as delivering training at our centre, community venues, and public places within Sefton.

E-Fit Project


E-fit is an email based information service designed for the busy person.  Participants receive 20 daily emails containing information around maintaining a healthy weight through healthy eating / getting more active and other lifestyle issues such as alcohol, smoking etc.  We also include lots of tips, recipes, links and printable resources such as food diaries.

We offer a free and confidential service for anyone aged 18+ who is unemployed and would like to improve their health and wellbeing.

Just let us know what kind of help you would like and the changes you want to make. Then we will work together to set goals and develop a personal health plan.

Smoking projects

smoke free homes

We can offer support if you are wanting to cut down on smoking or give it up for good.

Smoke free homes – raises awareness of the dangers of second hand smoke and helps families to make their homes totally free from tobacco smoke.

Take the lead – working with young people to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver smoking awareness sessions to younger children.  

Healthy beginnings

Healthy Beginnings aims to improve the health and wellbeing of pregnant women, new parents/ carers and their children. Activities are free of charge and are delivered across various centres in Sefton.

Roots project

The Roots project is a community gardening scheme offers the chance for adults of all ages and abilities, novice or experienced gardeners to learn together how to grow fruit and vegetables.

Little Eaters infant weaning project provides parents/carers with eating advice, cookery and information appropriate for the age of their little ones.

Weight management

We offer a free 6 week course which aims to provide the knowledge and skills to eat more healthily. Participants are supported throughout the course and weekly weigh-ins are available.
